First off, can you blame her? That show is amazing and Frank Underwood is becoming a Top 5 TV character of all time. Unfortunately for her, she is doing a pretty shitty job playing House of Cards.
Good ole H-Dawg reached a new low last week by exploiting the deaths of small children to score a few political points against Bernie Sanders. Talk about all-time sleazy political moves. Even Frank Underwood would cringe at a move this cheap. I guess you have to give her some credit. She has absolutely no shame and will go to any lengths to win.
If you look at the actual transcripts of what Bernie said in regards to the Sandy Hook law suits against the gun manufacturers, there is NOTHING controversial.
Daily News: There’s a case currently waiting to be ruled on in Connecticut. The victims of the Sandy Hook massacre are looking to have the right to sue for damages the manufacturers of the weapons. Do you think that that is something that should be expanded?
Bernie Sanders: Do I think the victims of a crime with a gun should be able to sue the manufacturer, is that your question? No, let me just…I’m sorry. In the same sense that if you’re a gun dealer and you sell me a gun and I go out and I kill him [gestures to someone in room]…. Do I think that that gun dealer should be sued for selling me a legal product that he misused? [Shakes head no.] But I do believe that gun manufacturers and gun dealers should be able to be sued when they should know that guns are going into the hands of wrong people. So if somebody walks in and says, “I’d like 10,000 rounds of ammunition,” you know, well, you might be suspicious about that. So I think there are grounds for those suits, but not if you sell me a legal product.
Regardless of your political leanings, I would like to think most rational people would agree with Bernie. People should not be allowed to sue a company because they do not like the legal products that are sold. It would set a dangerous precedent, especially in the lawsuit-happy nation we live in. Everyone would have lawsuits against them, EVERYONE. For starters, I would sue Uber drivers who take twice the amount of time than estimated; Chipotle workers who tear my burrito trying to wrap it and Airline counter attendants. I am essentially suing anyone that inconveniences me. Now I am not trying to compare my personal inconvenience to a mass shooting, but you have to separate the incident from the lawsuit. If you look at the allegations by the plaintiffs, they claim two things: (1) the gun was negligently sold AND (2) it should not have been allowed to be sold.
Okay I will make this real easy (1) it wasn’t AND (2) it was legally sold, case closed.
Now obviously you cannot fault the families for taking any action they can to achieve some sort of retribution; especially, when there has been almost no action taken in Congress since the Sandy Hook shooting 4 years ago. However, I will not give a pass to Clinton or any other politician (or person) who uses this suit as a way to take shots at Bernie or gun manufacturers. If you are one of those people, you are a scumbag.
Despite Hilary’s sleaziest intentions, it looks like this stunt is backfiring on Hilary as the American people can see right through her bullshit.
Safe to say Hilary, you are no Frank Underwood.
