I think we can now confidently say Donald J. Trump believes anything he sees on the internet is true. Checking sources? Verifying credibility? That’s for politically correct chumps, not for Presidential candidates! I am convinced all Trump supporters approach the internet in the same fashion, so it isn’t surprising he has maintained support despite his many internet brain farts.
Here are some of his greatest hits:
TRUMP CLAIMS PROTESTER HAS TIES TO ISIS
Donald: “If you look on the internet… he was dragging a flag, was that a hoax too?”
Chuck: “We have checked it, there is no ties to ISIS…this video you posted appears to be a hoax”
Donald: “All I know is what is on the internet”
TRUMP RE-TWEETS FALSE STATS ABOUT BLACKS MURDERING WHITES (3:50 minutes in)
Trump: “Hey Bill, Bill, am I going to check every statistic?”
Bill: “You gotta, you are a presidential candidate”
Not in a Trump Presidency, he goes with his gut, not facts.
TRUMP RE-TWEETS WHITE GENOCIDE TWITTER ACCOUNT
This re-tweet really shows how thick-headed Donald Trump is. I am pretty sure 99% of us would see a post by someone named “White Genocide” and at the very least say, ‘you know what, maybe we should look into this guy a little more before re-tweeting.’ After looking into @WhiteGenocideTM, you would find out he is an actual Neo-Nazi who tweets some pretty awful shit. Probably not somebody you would want to associate yourself with if you were a normal person, not to mention the Republican Front-runner.
TRUMP RE-TWEETS MUSSOLINI QUOTES
“It is better to live one day as a lion than a 100 years as a sheep” – Mussolini
I get it – it’s sort of a cool quote. But if you are running for President, you probably shouldn’t be associating yourself with the founder of fascism and Hitler’s best buddy during WWII. But hey, who has time for political correctness when you are running for president???
It’s safe to say Donald Trump has the intellectual curiosity of a walnut. He clearly has no interest in knowing whether the statements he shares are true or to understand where they originated. That’s fine if you want pretty much any normal job in America, or even a not-so normal job like a reality TV star. However, it’s not okay if you want to be President.
I think Chuck Todd said it best:
“You wouldn’t make a business deal on re-tweets or hearsay. You are running for President of the United States, your words matter, truthfulness matters, fact-based stuff matters”
Unfortunately “fact-based stuff” does not matter to Donald Trump which is why he has the most outrageous lies on the campaign trail this year as assessed by Politifact.com – 21 “Pants on Fire Lies” from Donald Trump. Yea, our country might go to shit and we could ruin relations with the rest of the world if Trump is our President, but on the positive side, it will make for some damn good TV!!!
